The production team constructed a substantial water tank surrounded by building facades, providing a solid foundation for Vine FX's work. The studio expanded this practical setup by creating 3D models of the surrounding village, utilising real-world data for accuracy. The result is a shot where the seamlessly integrated CGI elements beyond the immediate practical elements are indistinguishable from reality.

The flood sequences in 'After The Flood' were filmed at Tees Barrage, a white water rafting facility in Stockton. This location offered a controlled environment for the dramatic water scenes, ensuring the safety of the actors while capturing dynamic, high-impact footage. Vine FX collaborated closely with the production crew to enhance these sequences, adding visual effects that intensified the tension and realism without compromising safety.

One of the more challenging shots involved a baby being swept away in the floodwaters. Vine FX employed a combination of practical filming and advanced compositing techniques to match the expressions and features of a real baby with a prop used on set.
